The Club has experienced continued growth in junior membership in recent years and demand has outgrown the capacity of the volunteers who manage the junior section. Junior cricket is a critical element of the Club’s long term planning, essential to our aim to provide opportunity to a wider range of people to participate in the sport. The Club has therefore decided to employ a professional coach to organise and deliver a more structured training programme for the children and has secured the services of Peter Williams, an experienced and fully qualified coach accredited by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
In 2008 the programme will run for 16 weeks, commencing on Monday 21 April with sessions on either Monday or Wednesday evening from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. The younger children (school years 5, 6 and 7) will be trained on Monday and the older children (school years 8, 9 and 10) on Wednesday.
The annual subscriptions for the junior section for 2008 will be £40 for the first child, with a concessionary rate of £20 for a younger sibling and no charge for a third sibling. There will be no match fees.
