On a beautiful Bank Holiday Monday, David played his final game at the club.
He arranged a 20/20 game in the morning (Woodham Mortimer v All Stars) and then a 30/30 game in the afternoon (David’s Invitation XI v LBCC). The afternoon game finished in a tie with David opening the batting and bowling the last over of the match and then being carried off to huge applause from a large, boisterous, well-natured crowd. David has written the match report for the club game (see Sunday fixtures).
At the presentation ceremony at the end of an emotional day, the club presented David with an engraved glass shield in recognition of his magnificent fundraising. David told us that he has raised over £38,000 for Macmillan which is a brilliant effort.
Very well done David – you are a fundraising superstar!
