Little Baddow Cricket Club Won 6 Wickets
Yours truly missed his first game of the season so not quite sure what happened but I will try to cobble something together anyway.
Once again the Baddow Boys take the new ball looking to register their 7th straight win to maintain the pressure on Easter & Peverel. Glenda shares the new ball with the middle Bucknell, and once again experience tells as Glenda produces another fine opening spell but can only manage 1 wicket, while the middle Bucknell's radar is a little off key but he still registers a wicket for himself. The return of the Predator is the main factor for us as he takes a fantastic 6 wickets from his 12 overs, and is ably supported by the Silver Fox and the South African who take 1 wicket apiece. A decent performance to bowl the oppo out but greater control is required over the coming weeks as we can ill afford to ship the number of extras bowled on Saturday against more testing teams.
The Welshman returns to the side to open the batting with Chunky, and they put on a solid start before the Welshman falls for 24. Chunky goes on to register 36, his highest score of the season, a welcome return to form for our glovesman. Blaydesy falls fairly cheaply, but again youth comes to the fore as firstly junior Tutts knocks off his first League fifty for the club and the middle Bucknell begins to look like a young Flintoff as he also makes his highest league score to finish unbeaten on 44. The South African comes in to bang a quick 13 not out to close out another fine win.
Let's hope the likes of the Predator, junior Tutts and the middle Bucknell can continue their good form for the team over the coming weeks.
