Little Baddow Cricket Club Sunday NECL XI v Real Oddies on Sun 28 Aug 2005 at 1pm
Little Baddow Cricket Club Won 9 wickets
A hot, sunny day and a flat wicket, so not a good day to lose the toss. The bowlers, however, did their work in the heat and pressured the batting side with some (generally) tidy bowling, supported by excellent catching and ground fielding. Wickets fell regularly, and with the biggest partnership of only 30, the visitors were bowled out for 134 inthe 42nd over. M Rehman scored 50 but lacked support. Sachin's seam bowling earned him 4 wickets and Tom bowled well for 3, with the other wickets shared.
Young Rob declined the offer to open, so Steve and Vinay set about the task and put on 108 for the first wicket in 17 overs, before Vinay skyed a full toss. No further alarms and the winning runs came in the 21st over, Steve stroking another 4 to finish on 49 not out.
The day was rounded off nicely as we finished in time to watch England score the last dozen or so runs to win the fourth test!
